Akihiro Claims Victory in the Club’s Annual Oktoberfest Golf Tournament as Festivities Make for a Memorable Evening at the Club

The greens were alive with anticipation and competitive spirit as golfers teed off in the latest edition of the Club’s Oktoberfest Golf Tournament.

Before the first drive was struck, BMW added an exciting twist to the day by organising a Chipping Challenge. Players tested their short game skills in a fun, light-hearted contest that brought early energy to the morning. The challenge was well received, setting the tone for a competitive but enjoyable day ahead.

The shotgun start got underway at 1:15pm, with players  provided cold Erdinger beer at the 10th tee.

In the Double Peoria competition, emerging as the clear winner was Akihiro Nishimura, who delivered an outstanding performance to secure 41 points, earning top honours in the event. Akihiro’s consistent play and strategic course management paid off handsomely.

The race for second place was tightly contested, with Joanne Gow and Chen Guo Feng both finishing with 39 points. However, after a countback (OCB), it was Joanne who edged into the runner-up position. Chen Guo Feng rounded out the top three, showcasing solid form throughout the day. It was a true celebration of the sport’s unpredictability and fun. Congratulations to all participants, and especially to our top finishers – Akihiro, Joanne, and Chen – for making it a memorable day on the course.

Following the competition, members and guests gathered for the evening festivities, turning the event into a vibrant celebration of food, music, fun and camaraderie. Held at the Garden Banquet Room, the post-golf dinner was transformed into a festive Bavarian bash, bringing everyone together in true Oktoberfest spirit.

The event was hosted by the ever-charismatic Andre Hoedden, whose energy kept the crowd entertained throughout the night. Live music by Reverie set the tone, delivering an upbeat mix of classics and crowd-pleasing hits that had everyone tapping their feet.

Guests were treated to an indulgent buffet spread featuring roasted crispy pork knuckle, an assortment of bratwurst sausages, and honey-glazed baby back ribs,, perfectly complemented by a free-flow of Erdinger beer that kept spirits high. The ever-popular Chicken Dance and a light-hearted mini beer-chugging contest brought plenty of laughter and friendly competition to the evening.

Adding to the excitement were lucky draw prizes generously sponsored by BMW and TaylorMade, with winners walking awaywith premium gifts and exclusive merchandise. Prizes were presented by
