A sharp pop of paddle meeting ball. A quick shuffle of feet. An adrenaline pumping exchange that builds quickly, resets just as fast, and keeps the tempo high, striking a balance between social play, active lifestyle seekers and those who enjoy a more competitive edge.
Lifestyle and activewear brands have been quick to respond to the sport’s rising profile, releasing sleek paddles, coordinated outfits and accessories designed to transition effortlessly from court performance to everyday style.
In Singapore, pickleball’s momentum is building at noticeable speed, with playing spaces emerging across the island, from neighbourhood void decks to community centres adapting quickly to accommodate growing demand. Yet beneath this rapid expansion lies a practical constraint, as the appetite for the sport begins to outpace the availability of dedicated courts.
Pickleball, once a niche backyard pastime in the United States, has quietly become one of the world’s fastest-growing sports and it has now found a new stage at the Club’s freshly refurbished courts.

competition-grade standards

For Members, the game is no longer a passing introduction. It is now part of the Club’s sporting landscape, with five courts available in total. Two courts are located at the Multi-purpose Court within the Sports Complex, while three newly built courts have been introduced in April 2026 as part of a dedicated upgrade, constructed to competition-grade specifications to support higher-level play alongside recreational games.
The addition of these new courts reflects more than an expansion in facilities. It signals how member demand is evolving, and how the Club is responding to a sport that bridges two distinct experiences, social recreation and competitive intensity.
The game draws from a blend of familiar racquet sports, incorporating elements of table tennis, badminton and tennis in its pace, technique and net play. This combination creates a style that feels immediately familiar yet distinctly its own.
From Members discovering it as a casual activity to those who prefer faster, more tactical rallies, the sport naturally accommodates different styles of play on the same court. Variation in partners, opponents and rally patterns ensures each session feels dynamic without repetition.
That energy is already visible across TMCC’s courts.
Since opening, the new courts have seen strong utilisation, with Members integrating pickleball into their regular sporting routines. First-time players are stepping in to try the game, while returning players continue to build familiarity and rhythm through regular play.
For newcomers, the entry point remains straightforward. A paddle in hand is enough to begin, with equipment available at the Sports Complex to support Members trying the sport for the first time.
Beyond gameplay, pickleball has naturally created a more fluid social environment on court. Short matches and frequent rotation encourage interaction between games, with Members meeting new playing partners regularly and forming informal connections over time.
This extends beyond casual play, with the Club’s Sports & Recreation Department hosting initiatives such as The Racquet Social Night: Tennis & Pickleball, where enthusiasts come together for rallies and shared court time in a relaxed setting.
Members looking to learn or further develop their game can also take part in pickleball introductory course and coaching, with both personal and group training sessions available.
The introduction of the three new competition-grade courts, alongside the existing facilities, reflects the Club’s continued commitment to enhancing its sporting environment for Members. It is an investment in both capacity and quality of play.
As usage continues across all five courts, pickleball has become a consistent part of the Club’s sporting rhythm, bringing together different styles of play within a shared sporting space.
