There is a long-held belief in Tanah Merah Country Club’s continued success in the Singapore Golf Association’s Inter-Club League (ICL).
And it boils down to the unity among players and the chemistry between the partnering members. This bond is built through a series of meetings among the players weeks before the serious competition tees off.
Thus, in preparation for this year’s league, the team gathered for a get-together on 9 February at the Garden Course, where players were treated to a sumptuous dinner and enjoyed ample photo-taking amidst lively banter.
More significantly, the gathering set the tone for the campaign ahead — one centred on a winning mindset, resilience and collective responsibility. Together, the team emphasised that success is a shared effort, taking pride in representing TMCC to the best of their abilities in the ICL.
There is quiet confidence within the team, coupled with a strong determination to go one better than their 2025 runner-up finish after being narrowly beaten by Seletar Country Club in a hard-fought contest, and to ultimately deliver good news to members.
Tanah Merah lost 6.5 to 4.5 in May last year at the Keppel Club’s Sime Course, but the scores belied the fact that some games were close encounters.
Nevertheless, the TMCC spirit was evident in all the matches, and there is a buzz among the players for this year’s tournament which started on 8 March.
TMCC began their campaign in style, beating Changi Golf Club 8.5 to 2.5 at Sembawang Country Club on March 22.
The Inter-Club League which encompasses players of different age groups and diverse levels of ability is about all-round team performance.
And this teamwork has always been the DNA of the Tanah Merah teams, led by Overall League Captain Nico Mo and Ladies League Captain Wendy Lim, whose steadfast leadership and unwavering support make them pillars of strength for the squad.
Being a league team player requires dedication, and TMCC’s league team members have shown exemplary commitment to the Club and their passion for the sport, as demonstrated by their devotion to the demanding league schedule.
The TMCC league teams continue to thrive on their vibrancy and diverse skillsets, reflecting the dedication and spirit of all members, with room for golfers who share the same commitment.
